Your personal browser
For over 25 years, Opera has been at the forefront of browser innovation, continually enhancing user experiences. In line with this commitment, Opera has introduced a unique sound branding initiative, seamlessly integrating auditory elements to enrich the browsing journey.

The Challenge
Creating the sound branding for Opera was a unique challenge that required balancing innovation, functionality, and emotional connection. Unlike visual branding, where logos and colors remain static, sound branding has to be dynamic, adaptive, and intuitive. Every sound needed to feel natural, enhancing the browsing experience without becoming intrusive or distracting.
Opera’s sound branding is more than just a set of effects—it’s a cohesive audio identity that transforms web browsing into a multisensory experience. By blending innovation with emotion, the brand has a signature sound that enhances how people interact with the web.

Opera Brazil
Description
Opera has collaborated with Brazilian artists Aline Bispo and Naia Ceschin to introduce the Opera One browser’s new custom themes, Calma and Sossego. These themes are inspired by Bossa Nova and are accompanied by unique soundscapes composed by Combustion Studio.
Calma, designed by Aline Bispo, evokes the tranquility of the Brazilian seaside, blending vibrant colors with relaxing audio elements. Bispo’s work often explores themes of nature and cultural plurality, reflecting Brazil’s rich socio-cultural history.
Sossego, crafted by Naia Ceschin, offers a soothing and graceful aesthetic, encouraging users to explore Brazil’s natural beauty. The accompanying Bossa Nova-inspired soundscape enhances the serene browsing experience.
These themes provide visual appeal and integrate auditory elements, enriching the user’s interaction with the browser. This initiative highlights Opera’s commitment to cultural appreciation and user personalization.

“Working with Marcelo, Chico, and the team at Combustion Studio for our Opera sound took us on a rewarding retrospective journey. Our goal was to look at Operas long 20+ year history, trying to pull iconic sounds and directions from the past whilst also incorporating modern future-centric ones. Marcelo and the team were able to combine this vision into a great final result.”
